أُسْطُورَة الْخَوْف
ذَكَرُو فيِ أَسَاطِيرِ الأوَّلِينَ أنَّ هَيْكَلاًعَظِيمًا كَانَ خَارِجَ مَدِينَةِ اِصْطَخْر، وَكَانَ يَأوِي إِلَيْهِبَعْضُ سُرَاةِ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا اِشْتَدَّ بِهِمْ وَحْشَةُ الظَّلاَمِ. وَمَا آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ، إِلاَّ غَالَتْهُ الْمَنِيَّة. فَيَأتِيطُلاَّبُ أَثَرِهِ إلىَ الْهَيْكَلِ فيِ ضَوْءِ النَّهَارِ لِقَصِّخَبَرِهِ، فيِجِدُونَهُ مَيِّتًا بِرَغْمِ سَلاَمَةِ بَدَنِهِ مِنْ كُلِّمَا يُعْرَفُ سَبَبًا لِلْمَوْتِ. اِشْتَهَرَ أَمْرُ الْهَيْكَلِ بَيْنَالسَّابِلَةِ وَالْقُطَّانِ. وَأَخَذَ كُلٌّ حِذْرَهُ مِنَ الْمَبِيتِبِهِ. حَتَّى ضَاقَتْ الدُّنْيَا بِرَجُلٍ وَفَضَّلَ الْمَوتَ عَلَىالْحَيَاةِ. لَكِنْ صَعُبَ عَلَيْهِ الاِنْتِحَارُ. فَذَهَبَ إلىَالْهَيْكَلِ لَعَلَّهُ يَلْقَى مَنِيَّتَهُ. كَانَ بِالْقُرْبِ مِنَالْهَيْكَلِ رِجَالٌ، نَصَحُوهُ وَحَذَّرُوهُ عَاقِبَةَ الْهَلاَكِ؛ فَلَميَصْغَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ: - إِنّمَا أَتَيْتُ لِتِلْكَ الْعَاقِبَةِ. اِنْفَلَتَ الرَّجُلُ الْبَائِسُ مِنْ نُصَحَائِهِ إلىَ حَيْثَ يَظُنُّمَهْلَكَهُ. لَمَّا تَوَسَّطَ الْهَيْكَلَ فَاَّجَابَهُ أَصْوَاتٌمُزْعِجَةٌ هَائِلَةٌ، كَأَنَّ جَمْعًا عَظِيمًا يُخَاطِبُهُ. - هَا نَحْنُقَدْ أَتَيْنَا لإِتْلاَفِكَ ! هَا نَحْنُ قَدْ أَتَيْنَا لإِزْهَاقِرُوحِكَ ! هَا نَحْنُ قَدْ وَصَلْنَا لِتَمْزِيقِ بَدَنِكَ وَسَحْقِعِظَامِكَ! صَاحَ الْبَائِسُ: - أَلاَ فَاقْدُمُوا، فَقَدْ سَئِمتُالْحَيَاةَ! لَمْ يَكَدْ يُتِمُّ كَلاَمَهُ حَتَّى حَدَثَتْ فَرْقَعَةٌشَدِيدَةٌ وَانْحَلَّ الطِّلَّسْمُ، وَانشَقَّ الْجِدَارُ، وتَنَاثَرَتْمِنْهُ الدَّنَانِيرُ وَالدَّرَاهِمُ، وَتَفَتَّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْكُنُوزِ. اِطْمَأَنَّ الْخَائِفَ، وَنَامَ. لَمَّا أضْحَى النَّهَارُ وَجَاءَالْوَاقِفُونَ عَلى خَبَرِهِ لِيَحْمِلُوا جِنَازَتَهُ، وَجَدُوهُ فَرِحًامُسْتَبْشِرًا. يَسْأَلُهُمْ بَعْضَ الأَوْعِيَةِ لِيَحْمِلَ مَا وَجَدَهُمِنَ الَّذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ. سَأَلَ الرِّجَالُ عَنْ قِصَّتِهِ،وَبَعْدَ الْبَيَانِ، عَلِمُوا أَنَّ هَلاَكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ إِنَّمَا كَانَبِسَبَبِ الْفَزَعِ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْمُزْعِجَاتِ الّتيِ لاَ حَقِيقَةَلَهَا«.

هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةَالْخَيَالِيَّةَ قَدْ صَاغَهَا الْعَلاَّمَةُ جَمَالُ الدِّينِالأَفَْانِيُّ بِعُنْوَانِ »أُسْطُورَة الْخَوْف«، وَهِيَ قِصَّةٌرَمْزِيَّةٌ، أَرَادَ بِهَا إِثَارَةَ الْغَيْرَةِ والْحَمِيَّةِ فيِنُفُوسِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ضِدَّ الْحَرَكَاتِ الاسْتِعْمَارِيَّةِ واحتِلاَلِالْغَرْبِيِّينَ للْوَطَنِ الإسْلاَمِيِّ.
