وفي واشنطن، أكد وزير الدفاع الأمريكي روبرت جيتس أن وزارته أمنت فقط 200 جندي إضافي لإرسالهم إلى أفغانستان، ملمحا إلى ضرورة انتظار خفض القوات في العراق لإرسال مزيد من التعزيزات.
